Hi, I’m Nina, an award-winning documentary family photographer based in Bristol but also covering Bath, the South West & London.
For over 15 years, I have worked as a Picture Editor and photographer for leading publications and organisations including Save The Children, Getty Images and The Times. I have produced award-winning photography campaigns and worked on some of the most high-profile news stories of the last decade. My photographs have been published by the BBC, The Guardian, Rough Guides and Time magazine amongst others. I am genuinely passionate about the power of photography to capture and preserve meaningful moments and this has been the motivating force behind my career to date. You can visit my editorial website to find out more about my editorial work and published projects.
When I had my first child, it was a natural step to turn the camera inwards and to start capturing the overwhelming but exciting adventure of motherhood. I wanted to hold on to every little detail of our newfound existence - from first little giggles, to the tears and tantrums, the mess, the fun and the cuddles. It became my preoccupation to meticulously record the daily antics of my two sensitive, inquisitive and fun-loving daughters, who of course preferred to carry on with their usual business rather than to sit and pose for a camera!
It felt more natural to capture the real and everyday, rather than engage in formal posed portraiture. At the end of the day, these are the moments we really want to remember anyway! From there, I started photographing the daily lives of other families too and, so, Nina Raingold Family Photography was born.
Each family photoshoot comes with its own unique story and it is a privilege to be a part of each family’s journey for a day (or with regular clients to be part of the adventure over the months and years). There really is so much beauty in ordinary family life and I just adore capturing unposed moments of fun, chaos, love and joy. Your photographs will be a true reflection of your life at a particular moment in time and something you will be able to look back on and cherish for years to come.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, then please do get in touch and we can have a chat about your family and the images we can create together.
